Liquid Substances Now Allowed
 
Now some liquids are once again allowed through London City Airport security points. But do note that restrictions on types of liquids and quantities do apply.
 
Liquids can only be carried in quantities of 100ml or less, and each in a separate container.
 
Containers have to be brought to the airport sealed in a single, transparent, re-sealable plastic bag, no bigger than 1 litre in capacity (approximately 20cms x 20cms), that has to fit comfortably within the passenger's hand luggage.

Note that only one clear bag is allowed in each piece of hand luggage.

Larger quantities of liquids, or any that don't fit into the clear plastic bag as full, have to be placed in main luggage as strictly stated by London City security.
 
Authorised liquids include:

  • Pressurized containers and spray cans like deodorants and shaving foam
  • Toothpastes
  • Shower gels and hair gels

Any essential medicines are allowed in addition to the strict allowances for liquids. As are baby foods, however these may be subject to authentication.
 
Hand Luggage Size
 
Hand luggage must be no bigger than a maximum size of 56cm x 45cm x 25cm and the above mentioned re-sealable bag has to fit within this piece of hand luggage.
 
Pushchairs are also allowed but will need to be screened at the security points. As will wheelchairs and other such walking aids.
 
Laptop PCs
 
London City Airport security unofficial information says that laptop PCs have to be removed from hand luggage for screening. If they are in a specialist PC bag then this will class as your one piece of allowed hand luggage.

Also, if large electrical items are being carried in hand luggage, these too must be removed for separate screening.
 
Larger Items
